OET REQUIREMENTS · UNITED KINGDOM
OET requirements for the HCPC (UK allied health): what score you need
The HCPC regulates a range of allied health professions in the UK, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, radiographers, dietitians, and speech and language therapists. It sets its own English language requirements for international applicants.
OET is among the tests the HCPC recognises. Because the HCPC covers many professions and updates its guidance, confirm the requirement for your specific profession on its site.
THE OET REQUIREMENT
The HCPC has commonly accepted OET at grade B, a numeric score of 350, in each of the four subtests. Verify the current requirement for your profession on the HCPC website before booking.
WORTH CONFIRMING
Requirements and any flexibility around combining sittings are set by the HCPC and can differ in detail from other UK regulators. Always confirm the current rule directly rather than assume it matches the NMC or GMC.

PREPARE FOR THE GRADE
Whatever the exact figure, Writing and Speaking are the subtests most candidates lose marks on. WardPass marks practice letters and role plays in seconds against the published OET criteria, and tracks a readiness estimate per subtest toward the 350 line, so you know whether you are on track before you sit the test.
