OET requirements for the GPhC (UK pharmacy): what score you need

The GPhC regulates pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in Great Britain and sets the English language evidence international pharmacists must provide.

OET is one of the accepted tests. The required grade is the GPhC's to set and is reviewed periodically, so confirm it before you plan around it.

Regulator: General Pharmaceutical Council
Country: United Kingdom
Covers: Pharmacists
Official site: www.pharmacyregulation.org

THE OET REQUIREMENT

The GPhC has commonly accepted OET at grade B, a numeric score of 350, in each of the four subtests, on the Pharmacy version where applicable. Check the current requirement on the GPhC website before booking.

WORTH CONFIRMING

Any rules on combining sittings or on the validity period of results are set by the GPhC and change, so confirm the current detail directly with the regulator.

PREPARE FOR THE GRADE

Whatever the exact figure, Writing and Speaking are the subtests most candidates lose marks on. WardPass marks practice letters and role plays in seconds against the published OET criteria, and tracks a readiness estimate per subtest toward the 350 line, so you know whether you are on track before you sit the test.
